Another Neighborhood Story

Another Neighborhood Story

In a city as historical and varied as Philadelphia, every neighborhood has a story.

The neighborhood of Society Hill is one of the most historical in the city.  It is where William Penn landed in 1682, and its proximity to the Delaware River fueled its growth in the 17th and 18th centuries, and some of the colonial era houses still remain.

The area went through the normal cycles of growth and decline until the 1950s, when it had become a diverse neighborhood.  However, spooked by the growth of the suburbs, city planner Edmund Bacon envisioned a modern, residential neighborhood.  The city condemned entire blocks, and encouraged the new residents to restore the old homes.  Homes that weren't restored were torn down and swapped with mid-century modern replacements.

Now, the area dotted with some of the most exclusive homes in the city from multiple eras, from the colonial era to today.  It remains as one of the most exclusively residential neighborhoods in the city.

In an area as unique as Society Hill, every home has its own story, and those stories deserve to be told.  Anyone can sell your home, but can they tell its story? I can, and I would love to do so for you.  If you live in Society Hill and are thinking of selling your home, reach out to me, and we can tell your story together.
