My favorite holiday is right around the corner, St. Patrick’s Day where we celebrate Saint Patrick’s life by drinking green beer of course. This year it falls on a Saturday so get your green everything out and join on in the fun!
Here are my top 5 ways to get in the Irish spirit:
Saint Patrick’s Day Parade - March 11th, Noon-3pm. One of the oldest parades in the country, its 248th year! The parade route will be beginning at City Hall taking the party to Penn’s Landing. More information can be found here.
Erin Express - One of the largest bar crawls in the city, this 14 bar crawl will certainly light up your life with plenty of green beer to go around. Crawl begins at 9am and goes through the day until 6pm. More information here.
2018 Philadelphia Flower Show - This year’s theme “Wonders of the Water” will run from March 3rd through March 11th. Did you know it’s the oldest and largest show of its kind? There will be no doubt lots of green things for you to see! https://theflowershow.com/
Drink Philly’s Irish Spirit Speakeasy - Want to get a little classy for St. Patrick’s Day, well the The Mask and Wig Club is hosting a 1920s themed Ireland party. Dress in your classic Irish duds, think crisp caps, overcoats, suspenders, and trousers for men and furs, flapper-style dresses, and cloche hats for women. Listen to live Irish music and sip on signature cocktails from Dan Lan Hamm and Spirit Forward. Tickets are $55 and you can get them here.
2018 Leprechaun Run - Last but not least there is always time to run off the beer and that will be happening March 10th at the 2018 Leprechaun Run beginning at the Art Museum. The Leprechaun run is an annual event that benefits Special Olympics in Pennsylvania, which provides sports training to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Sign up here.
